Mid Level PHP Developer (Laravel) – Remote (Anywhere)

Overview
The client seeks a PHP-focused Mid-level Developer to join their expanding remote team. This role has opened following several new business wins with both new and existing clients. The developer will collaborate closely with another team member on multiple ongoing PHP projects, including those using Laravel and custom PHP. The role includes working on third-party API integrations and offers a fast-paced, varied workload ideal for someone who enjoys juggling multiple priorities and project types.

Role Responsibilities

• Contribute to the development and maintenance of PHP applications (Laravel and custom builds)
• Collaborate with internal team members to execute project goals and timelines
• Handle third-party API integrations and data manipulation via JSON
• Maintain and organize Git repositories across multiple projects
• Interact with clients post-introduction, providing technical clarity and support
• Support full-stack development efforts from UI to backend
• Employ modern, semantic HTML and CSS best practices
• Use the CLI to streamline development processes
• Participate in code reviews, peer feedback, and continuous improvement discussions
• Work with SQL-based databases to manage data storage and queries
• Assist in refining DevOps workflows, especially as related to deployment and Docker
  
  

Ideal Candidate Qualifications
Required:

• Ideally based in the UK (not essential) and fluent in English
• Strong proficiency in semantic HTML and modern CSS practices
• Demonstrated expertise in PHP, with a focus on Laravel
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases
• Experience working with Git version control systems
• Comfortable with full-stack responsibilities
• Strong communication skills; able to liaise directly with clients
• Self-motivated and collaborative with a growth mindset
• Confident using the command line

Preferred/Nice to Have:

• Clean, DRY, well-structured code writing style
• Knowledge of deployment models and Docker
• Proficiency in JavaScript, especially with React
• Familiarity with Laravel Livewire and FilamentPHP
• Experience with AlpineJS and TailwindCSS
• TDD experience using PestPHP or Jest
• Background in maintaining large codebases with long-term maintenance needs
• Ability to make informed decisions that impact project direction positively
