Job Description:
The client is seeking skilled RPG Mainframe Developers to support a long-term initiative. This role involves working on the development, maintenance, and enhancement of mainframe applications using RPG (Report Program Generator) on the IBM iSeries/AS400 platform. The successful candidates will be integral to ensuring the robust performance and reliability of critical financial applications.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, enhance, and maintain RPG-based applications on the IBM iSeries/AS400 platform.
• Analyze and translate business requirements into technical designs and code.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth integration of new features and updates.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications to maintain optimal performance.
• Conduct code reviews and contribute to the continuous improvement of coding standards.
• Ensure that all development work aligns with industry best practices, particularly within the financial services sector.
• Provide ongoing support and expertise during the software development lifecycle.
• Create and maintain detailed documentation for all code and system changes.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as an RPG Mainframe Developer with a strong command of RPG IV, RPGLE, CLLE, and SQL.
• Experience working on the IBM iSeries/AS400 platform.
• Familiarity with mainframe architecture, database management, and integration techniques.
• Experience in the financial services industry is a plus.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.
• Excellent communication skills, capable of interacting effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

• While the role offers remote flexibility, candidates must be based in the United Kingdom.
• This is a long-term contract position, with a commitment of more than one year and potential for extension based on project needs and individual performance.
