3D/CGI Animator and Motion Designer (Remote – Anywhere)

The client seeks a talented 3D/CGI Animator and Motion Designer to create a series of modern, visually compelling animations for a technical product. The animations will balance technical accuracy (for a B2B audience) with consumer-friendly appeal (for a B2C audience), similar in style to Samsung-style product animations.

This project involves high-quality product visualization, focusing on cinematic camera movements, deep-dive feature animations, and special effects that enhance clarity and engagement.

Project Scope & Responsibilities

1. Pre-Production:

• Optimize provided CAD models for animation.

• Collaborate with the team to finalize 9-12 key product features for focused animations.

• Develop storyboards and animatics to map out the animation flow.

2. Production:

• Create a cinematic product animation with smooth camera movements and dynamic lighting.

• Develop deep-dive animations (zoom-ins, cross-sections, functionality breakdowns).

• Integrate modern visual effects (e.g., electricity flow, glowing highlights, particle effects).

3. Post-Production:

• Composite animations with effects, transitions, and sound design.

• Deliver final high-resolution videos (4K) optimized for web, presentations, and marketing.

Deliverables

1. Overall Product Animation: 30-60 seconds.

2. Deep-Dive Animations: 9-12 animations (each 10-20 seconds).

3. Final Edited Video: Integrated animation (2-3 minutes total).

4. Source Files: All project files for potential future updates.

Technical Requirements

Software Proficiency:

• 3D Modeling & Animation: Blender, Maya, Cinema 4D, or 3ds Max.

• Rendering Engines: Cycles, Octane, Redshift, or Arnold.

• Visual Effects & Compositing: Adobe After Effects, Houdini, or Blender Compositor.

• Texturing: Substance Painter or Quixel Mixer.

Additional Skills:

• CAD File Handling: Experience optimizing STEP, IGES files for animation.

• Animation Style: Ability to create sleek, modern animations with dynamic camera movements, realistic lighting, and high-quality materials.

• Special Effects: Expertise in electricity flow, glowing highlights, and particle effects.

• Sound Design: Ability to integrate sound effects, music, and voiceovers (optional).

Required Skills & Experience

Must-Have:

• Proven experience in 3D/CGI animation for product visualization.

• Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality, modern animations (Samsung-style product videos preferred).

• Proficiency in industry-standard 3D animation and rendering software.

• Experience working with CAD models and technical product animations.

• Strong understanding of lighting, materials, and textures for photorealistic rendering.

Nice-to-Have:

• Experience creating animations for both B2B and B2C audiences.

• Knowledge of simulation tools (Houdini, RealFlow) for dynamic effects.

• Background in motion graphics and typography for labeling/annotations.
