Job Title: MERN Stack Developer with AWS Rekognition Knowledge

Location: Remote

Duration: Approximately 12-13 days (2-3 days for onboarding and environment setup, 10 days for development)

The client has developed a unique platform that combines video Q&A functionality with features such as search, storage, moderation, transcription, and translation. After initial success and validation of their concept, they are looking to enhance the platform's capabilities and address some backend and frontend challenges. The platform uses a MERN stack and incorporates AWS services, including S3 for storage and Rekognition for content moderation. The client values long-term relationships with their developers and seeks a candidate willing to engage in potential future projects.

Role Description

The client seeks a skilled MERN Stack Developer to assist in refining and expanding their existing platform. This role involves minor frontend cosmetic tweaks and backend functionality improvements, including bug fixes and the development of new features. The successful candidate will work closely with the existing team, including a developer who will focus on getting the platform production-ready. This project requires a developer who can quickly familiarise themselves with the existing codebase and environment, identify and fix errors, and implement necessary features efficiently.

Responsibilities

• Conduct a thorough review of the existing codebase and platform architecture.
• Set up and configure the development environment for efficient workflow.
• Implement frontend cosmetic changes and backend functionality improvements.
• Address and resolve identified bugs and errors in the platform.
• Work with AWS services, particularly S3 for storage and Rekognition for content moderation, ensuring seamless integration and functionality.
• Collaborate with the team for knowledge transfer and to ensure alignment with project goals and timelines.
• Potentially assist in building B2B functionalities and preparing the platform for scaling.

Qualifications

• Proven experience with the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js).
• Familiarity with AWS services, especially S3 and Rekognition.
• Experience with video storage, moderation, transcription, and translation technologies is a plus.
• Ability to work independently and in a team setting.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work remotely and coordinate with team members effectively.
