Data Engineering Capability Lead
Overview
Location: Remote (anywhere) – preference for candidates based in or near Poland, Romania, or Serbia
Start Date: As soon as possible
Duration: Long-term (contract or permanent, depending on candidate preference)
About the Role:
The client seeks a Data Engineering Capability Lead to guide the strategic direction and hands-on execution of data engineering initiatives. The role involves overseeing the ingestion, transformation, and storage of data from multiple ERP systems (primarily JD Edwards) using the Microsoft Azure ecosystem and related tools.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and scaling of data pipelines and architecture in Azure
- Integrate data from multiple ERPs with a focus on JDE
- Mentor data engineers and enforce best practices in data architecture and engineering
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify and deliver on data requirements
Qualifications:
- Deep experience with Microsoft Azure data services (e.g., Data Factory, Synapse, Databricks, etc.)
- Proven track record with ERP data integration, especially JD Edwards
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills
- Experience with data modeling and modern data architecture principles
