DevOps Engineer (Remote, 1-Year Contract)

About the Role:
The client, a UK-based FinTech startup, is seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to support their growing infrastructure and cloud-based services. This role requires a strong background in AWS and Google Cloud, with the ability to manage cloud environments, automate workflows, and ensure system reliability and security. The DevOps Engineer will play a critical role in optimizing the client’s cloud infrastructure and enabling continuous delivery for their financial products.
Key Responsibilities:
• Design, implement, and maintain cloud infrastructure on AWS and Google Cloud to support scalable and secure applications.
• Automate infrastructure deployments using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar.
• Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines to ensure efficient deployment of services and applications.
• Monitor system performance and troubleshoot cloud-based environments to ensure high availability and resilience.
• Collaborate with development teams to integrate DevOps best practices, enabling seamless development and deployment workflows.
• Implement security best practices for cloud environments, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
• Optimize cloud costs while maintaining performance and scalability.
• Provide ongoing support and maintenance for cloud services, including backup, disaster recovery, and incident response.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a DevOps Engineer with expertise in both AWS and Google Cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of cloud architecture, networking, and security principles.
• Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
• Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI, CircleCI, or similar.
• Solid scripting skills in Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Strong knowledge of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and microservices architecture.
• Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools (e.g., CloudWatch, Prometheus, ELK stack).
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
Contract Details:
This is a 1-year contract role, with potential for renewal based on project needs and performance.
