About the Role
The client seeks a Frontend / MFE Developer to support ongoing enhancements to their platform’s micro-frontend (MFE) ecosystem. The role involves delivering UI components, dashboards, and admin interfaces built on Open edX MFE architecture, ensuring a cohesive, branded, and accessible user experience across product areas. The developer will work within the client’s existing engineering and product structures to implement branding, theme extensions, role-based interfaces, and responsive layouts aligned with accessibility best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Implement theming and branding across existing and new Open edX MFEs.
Develop role-based dashboards and related UI flows using established RBAC patterns.
Build company administration UIs, including configuration and management interfaces.
Create and refine reporting UIs, ensuring clarity, performance, and usability.
Ensure all UI components are responsive and aligned with WCAG accessibility guidelines.
Collaborate with backend and product stakeholders to refine requirements and ensure smooth integration with platform APIs.
Contribute to documentation and handover materials as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
Proven experience with Open edX micro-frontends (MFEs).
Strong proficiency in React and modern JavaScript tooling.
Experience implementing theming and branding systems in component-based architectures.
Familiarity with role-based access control (RBAC) UI flows and permission-driven interfaces.
Competence in building responsive, accessible UIs with an understanding of WCAG principles.
Ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous environment.
Project Model
Part-time engagement totalling 18 days, spread across the project duration (5 January – 4 May 2026).
A structured ramp-up period (8–19 December 2025) to onboard, align with stakeholders, and review existing MFEs and design systems.
Remote delivery from anywhere, with flexible scheduling aligned to the client’s collaboration practices.
