Senior Python Developer - Remote from Anywhere

Overview

I’m looking for software engineers to help me build the operating system for the global alcohol industry. Upsides; greenfield development, remote-first, cloud-native and serverless tech stack.


Do you have Python backend experience? Experience with AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, API Gateway, CDK, CloudFormation and all of that good stuff? Or experience in integrating with e-commerce platforms such as WooCommerce, Shopify and BigCommerce?


At Tipple we’re helping companies sell direct-to-consumer and cut out the middle men. It’s an innovative mix of warehousing, logistics, accountancy, e-commerce and automation.


Role Overview: As a software engineer at Tipple, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and developing our technology offerings. Working hand-in-hand with me (CTO/co-founder), you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining robust solutions for our customers. The vast majority of the backend code is in Python, with some SQL and JavaScript thrown in for good measure. We also integrate with various e-commerce platforms to process orders. Your work will have a direct impact on our product's scalability, reliability, and success.


Things you’ll be doing:

  • Collaborate closely with the CTO to define and execute the technical roadmap for our product.
  • Develop, and deploy cloud-based solutions on AWS.
  • Write high-quality, maintainable Python code to implement backend services, APIs, and data processing tasks.
  • Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to team members.
  • Contribute to the development of best practices for coding, deployment, and quality assurance.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and innovation within the technology stack.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive continuous improvement.


Things we want:

  • 5+ years of professional experience in software engineering
  • Proficiency in Python programming
  • Experience with AWS services, particularly AWS Lambda, DynamoDB, S3 and Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL.

  • Solid understanding of best practices in software development, including version control, code reviews, and documentation.
