Engineering Manager

Start Date September 29, 2025

Overview

The client seeks an experienced Engineering Manager to lead the build and delivery of a bespoke platform designed to simplify and standardise campaign setup and activation. The system integrates with advertising APIs, automates workflows, embeds QA and budget checks, and leverages the client’s internal UI and DevOps frameworks.

This is a remote (anywhere) role, scoped for ~20–22 weeks (5–6 months) to cover discovery, build, QA, and UAT.

Role Overview

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for guiding a cross-functional engineering team through delivery. This includes overseeing technical execution, aligning development with DevOps and security standards, and ensuring successful delivery against project scope, timelines, and quality benchmarks. The role also requires close collaboration with stakeholders to manage dependencies, clarify requirements, and provide transparent updates throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and mentor a team of engineers, QA, and UX specialists throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Define technical scope and oversee architecture, ensuring alignment with client standards (UI components, SSO, hosting, DevOps).
  • Drive Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and backlog prioritisation.
  • Partner with product and delivery leads to ensure smooth cross-functional collaboration.
  • Monitor progress, mitigate risks, and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Guide integration with external APIs (overview-level technical leadership).
  • Ensure CI/CD pipelines, QA, and UAT processes are embedded in delivery.
  • Own technical documentation and support handover to client teams for future extensibility.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record as an Engineering Manager or Technical Delivery Lead in software development projects.
  • Strong leadership in Agile/Scrum delivery and managing cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Solid understanding of DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud-hosted environments (preferably GCP).
  • Familiarity with adtech or external API integrations – overview-level understanding is sufficient.
  • Experience aligning software delivery with enterprise standards (e.g., UI component libraries, security, SSO).
  • Strong organisational, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Hands-on technical background (engineering or architecture experience) required.

Contract Details
