The client seeks an experienced Power BI Developer with advanced data visualization and integration skills to support a project focused on transforming existing Excel-based reports and dashboards into Power BI. This role is fully remote, meaning the successful candidate can work from anywhere. The key responsibilities and qualifications for this role are outlined below:

Key Responsibilities:

1. Power BI Dashboard & Report Creation:
   • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports in Power BI.
   • Ensure advanced functionality through Power BI’s DAX functions for dynamic filtering, data transformations, and creating interactive components like slicers and drop-downs.
   • Convert complex Excel macros and formulas into efficient Power BI models using DAX and Power Query.
2. Azure Synapse Data Integration:
   • Query and pull data from an Azure Synapse Data Warehouse into Power BI.
   • Configure automatic refresh schedules in Power BI to align with the client's existing daily and weekly data update cycles.
3. Excel Macro Conversion:
   • Analyze existing Excel macros and replicate their logic within Power BI using Power Query and DAX for data manipulation and transformation.
4. Azure Compute Setup (Nice to Have):
   • Some familiarity with Azure Virtual Machines (VMs) or other Azure compute services to assist in configuring environments for larger data processing tasks is a plus.
   • Ability to help specify and configure the environment for efficient data processing, though this may be handled by another team member.
5. Documentation & Handover:
   • Prioritize comprehensive documentation of all processes, workflows, and configurations.
   • Provide detailed step-by-step guides to ensure seamless handover and continued maintenance of the project by the client’s team.
6. Basic Google Maps Integration (Nice to Have):
   • Experience embedding Google Maps in Power BI reports is a plus but not a strict requirement.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience developing advanced Power BI dashboards and reports, including proficiency with DAX functions and Power Query.
• Hands-on experience with Azure Synapse and integrating it with Power BI, including setting up automated data refresh schedules.
• Familiarity with analyzing and replicating Excel macros in Power BI.
• Experience with Azure compute services is a bonus.
• Strong communication skills, especially in documenting technical workflows for non-technical stakeholders.
