Senior Python Developer (Remote, UK-Based)

Contract: Full-Time, 12 Months

Location: Remote (must be based in the UK)

The client seeks an experienced Python Developer to join their team on a full-time basis for a 12-month contract. This role is ideal for a Level 5 engineer (senior-level) with strong expertise in Python, meta-programming, and FastAPI, who can contribute immediately to complex backend system development.

About the Role

The role involves architecting and building performant, scalable backend services using Python and FastAPI. The successful candidate will work closely with engineering leads and product stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions that power the client’s evolving platform.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain robust backend systems using Python and FastAPI
• Utilize advanced meta-programming techniques to build flexible and efficient codebases
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define and refine product features
• Write clean, testable, and well-documented code
• Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize performance
• Participate in code reviews and mentor junior developers

Required Qualifications

• Proven experience as a senior-level Python developer (5+ years of hands-on development)
• Expertise in meta-programming in Python
• Deep knowledge of FastAPI and asynchronous programming
• Experience building production-grade RESTful APIs
• Solid understanding of software design patterns and best practices
• Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously
• Must be based in the UK
