The client is based in London's fashionable east end, leveraging technology to create innovative solutions for clients, including world-renowned celebrities. As they continue to grow, they are looking to enhance their team with a dedicated QA Specialist. This role is instrumental in ensuring the highest quality of the client's applications across various platforms, emphasizing compatibility and defect management.

Role Summary:

The QA Specialist will lead the charge in executing comprehensive compatibility tests across a range of specified devices and browsers, ensuring the application's optimal performance on diverse platforms. The role extends to meticulous defect tracking, emphasizing the logging, severity assessment, and prioritization of issues. Additionally, the successful candidate will be responsible for the creation and maintenance of detailed test documentation.  Requirement for candidates to potentially utilise their own hardware for testing purposes, 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Compatibility Testing:
    • Perform detailed compatibility testing on a variety of devices and browsers as specified by the client, ensuring comprehensive coverage.
    • Validate cross-platform functionality to guarantee seamless application operation across different systems.
  • Defect Tracking:
    • Implement a structured approach to defect logging, capturing essential details to facilitate efficient tracking and resolution.
    • Develop criteria for classifying the severity and priority of defects, ensuring critical issues are addressed promptly.
  • Documentation:
    • Produce and manage test plans, scripts, and execution reports, ensuring clarity and thoroughness in documentation.
    • Collaborate with the development team to ensure findings are communicated effectively and resolved.
  • Hardware Provision:
    • Demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness in using personal hardware for testing activities, when necessary. This includes a readiness to adapt and overcome any associated challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Solid background in QA testing, with specific experience in compatibility testing and defect tracking.
  • Knowledge of various devices, browsers, and operating systems, understanding the nuances of cross-platform testing.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail in defect detection.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities, capable of juggling multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective teamwork and documentation.
  • Independent worker with the initiative to tackle challenges proactively.
