🌍 Fullstack Software Engineer (Frontend Specialist) – Remote (Anywhere)

Start Date January 05, 2026

Overview

The client is developing cutting-edge, AI-powered tools to simplify and streamline operating room (OR) workflows, enabling surgical teams to focus on what matters most—patient care. By combining real-time computer vision with context-aware AI, their platform automates critical tasks like surgical phase logging and coordination, removing administrative burdens from clinical staff.

Backed by leading investors and collaborating with top hospitals across the US and Europe, the client is expanding its engineering team with a mission-driven Fullstack Software Engineer who brings deep frontend expertise.

🔧 The Role

This role blends frontend technical leadership with fullstack development in a fast-paced, high-impact environment. The successful candidate will work on tools used directly in surgical care, from prototype to deployment. They will lead frontend strategy, help modularize codebases for better testing and mobile readiness, and mentor team members on frontend best practices.

This is a remote-first position (anywhere), ideally within European time zones. Occasional travel to hospitals in the US and Europe will be required to observe clinical workflows and collaborate with users on-site.

🛠 Responsibilities

In your first 6 months, you’ll:

  • Partner with the design team to implement a robust and scalable design system
  • Modularize the frontend architecture to support testability and mobile performance
  • Guide and mentor the team on clean, maintainable frontend patterns
  • Ship weekly enhancements or fixes with high reliability and minimal regressions
  • Provide structured product feedback, prototype ideas, and test features in the field
  • Own end-to-end delivery of features across product and ML teams

🧠 You’ll Work With

  • Frontend: React, TypeScript
  • Backend: Elixir (Phoenix), C++
  • Infrastructure: GCP, GitHub Actions, NixOS
  • Data: PostgreSQL, ETL pipelines
  • APIs: GraphQL, REST, HL7/FHIR integrations

While strong frontend and mobile development experience is essential, the client values curiosity over perfect matches. Engineers are supported to learn unfamiliar tools as needed.

✅ You Might Be a Great Fit If You:

  • Have led the architecture of maintainable and reliable cross-device web apps
  • Bring fullstack experience, even if frontend is your strength
  • Write clean code and communicate proactively
  • Take initiative to solve problems and flag issues early
  • Balance attention to detail with pragmatic execution
  • Thrive in collaborative, respectful teams that value open dialogue
  • Are motivated by building products that directly support better healthcare
  • Include the word ‘reactor’ in your application to show you read the full spec

🌍 Location

Remote – work from anywhere. Preference for European time zones. Some travel (US & EU) required to engage with clinical users.
