Lead Developer (Event-Driven Architecture – Azure Service Bus to WooCommerce)
Overview
Location: Remote (work from anywhere)
Duration: Short-term contract (project expected to last a few weeks)
The client seeks a highly capable Lead Developer with practical experience in event-driven architecture to build a lightweight service that consumes events from Azure Service Bus and synchronizes data with a WooCommerce site. While the technology stack is flexible, familiarity with Node.js or Python is desirable based on previous successful implementations.
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop a microservice to consume messages from Azure Service Bus and process them accordingly.
- Integrate the service with a WooCommerce site to reflect updates triggered by incoming events.
- Ensure the solution is reliable, secure, and scalable enough to handle expected workloads.
- Collaborate with the client to define scope, requirements, and integration touchpoints.
- Take ownership of the development lifecycle, from prototyping to deployment.
Required Qualifications:
- Proven experience in building event-driven systems.
- Strong understanding of message queuing services, particularly Azure Service Bus.
- Proficiency in either Node.js or Python, with the ability to make informed architectural decisions.
- Experience working with WooCommerce or similar e-commerce platforms.
- Ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results within a short timeframe.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with Azure cloud services.
- Previous work on short-term freelance or contract development projects.
