About the Role:

The client, an established aviation data organization, seeks experienced Cobol Engineers to support and enhance their legacy Cobol-based application. This role involves maintaining the current system and participating in code and system “clean-up” efforts to ensure stability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide ongoing maintenance and support for the client’s legacy Cobol application.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify areas for system improvement.

• Execute code and application “clean-up” tasks, optimizing performance and enhancing system reliability.

• Troubleshoot and resolve any issues that arise within the application, ensuring minimal downtime and high operational efficiency.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with Cobol in a commercial setting, ideally within legacy system environments.

• Familiarity with aviation or data-intensive industries is a plus, though not required.

• Strong problem-solving skills, especially in troubleshooting and optimizing legacy code.

• Ability to work effectively in a remote, Europe-based team.

• Excellent communication skills to coordinate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
