Overview
The client seeks one, and possibly two, experienced Senior Unity Developers to join a long-term project developing a custom simulation platform for a pioneering company in the baseball simulator industry. This is a remote, full-time role open to candidates anywhere. The engagement is expected to last over a year, with no defined end date, reflecting the client’s ongoing investment in the project and potential for extended collaboration.
About the Project
The developers will contribute to the customization of a Unity-based platform that powers immersive, interactive sports simulation experiences. The work focuses on building high-performance, visually compelling real-time applications, in collaboration with a leading sports tech company recently highlighted for its expansion and Series A funding.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a distributed team to develop, test, and optimize Unity applications tailored to a sports simulation experience.
- Customize core platform functionality to meet unique client requirements.
- Implement and iterate on front-end Unity features including animations, plugin integrations, and 3D asset workflows.
- Contribute to architectural decisions and ensure code quality, scalability, and maintainability.
- Work with designers, product managers, and engineers to implement game mechanics, real-time data integration, and visual feedback systems.
- Continuously improve performance and reliability across multiple platforms.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional experience with Unity3D and C#.
- Strong experience with Unity frontend development including animations, asset integration (e.g., Blender), plugins, and UI/UX interactions.
- Proven ability to work with real-time applications or games using Unity.
- Understanding of game development lifecycles, performance optimization, and graphical polish.
- Experience with cross-platform development and Unity performance profiling.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote, asynchronous team environment.
Preferred Profile
While the team already has substantial C# expertise, the ideal candidate will bring strong Unity frontend development capabilities. This includes experience working with animations, plugin systems, and 3D asset pipelines. Backend and C# logic will be well supported by the existing team, so frontend Unity skills are the top priority.
Nice to Have
- Experience with simulation or sports-based Unity applications.
- Background in integrating hardware or external sensor data with Unity applications.
- Familiarity with animation systems and physics in Unity.
