HTML5 Game Reskin Developer(s) (Construct 3 + CreateJS)

Summary

We’re reskinning a small suite of existing HTML5 games for mobile and kiosk (web-based). The Scope is largely visual and content updates: swapping graphics, UI skins, fonts and in-game copy, plus packaging the builds for kiosk/mobile use, but there may be some minor changes to core game mechanics subject to review.

We’re looking for either:

  • 1 senior developer comfortable across Construct 3 and JavaScript (CreateJS), or

  • 2 developers: one Construct 3 specialist and one JS/CreateJS specialist.

  • Likely full-time. Initial Term will be 1 month, likely to extend longer (subject to client approval)

Job Responsibilities

  • Take purchased game templates and import/open the editable source projects (Construct .c3p/.capx and a CreateJS codebase).

  • Reskin each title: replace sprites, backgrounds, UI elements, logos, fonts, and update all copy.

  • Integrate brand assets cleanly:

    • Create and manage sprite sheets/atlases where needed

    • Implement/adjust bitmap fonts or web fonts

    • Ensure UI spacing and legibility at kiosk distance

  • Prepare production-ready web builds for:

    • Mobile web

    • Kiosk web (fixed orientation/resolution, predictable restart flow)

  • Handle common kiosk hardening requirements:

    • Fullscreen behaviour, input constraints, disable unwanted scroll/zoom

    • Clear “reset” behaviour and session handling

    • Stable performance on typical kiosk hardware/browsers

  • Identify and mitigate template risks early:

    • Third-party plugin dependencies (where present)

    • Low native resolution templates that may upscale poorly

    • Old template quirks and export issues

    • Optional feature removal (e.g., ads/AdMob where included)

  • Work closely with design to ensure the reskin matches supplied mockups.

  • Coordinate with QA, address bugs, and support final sign-off.

Must-have experience

  • Construct 3 experience shipping/exporting HTML5 games (bonus if also Construct 2).

  • Strong understanding of HTML5 game deployment and browser constraints (mobile Safari/Chrome, audio autoplay policies, storage quirks).

  • Confidence working with asset pipelines:

    • PNG sequences, sprite sheets, texture atlases

    • PSD handoff and translating layered comps into in-game assets

  • Practical debugging skills:

    • Finding where text, UI states, or assets are defined

    • Fixing layout issues across resolutions and orientations

  • Solid performance awareness (asset sizes, draw calls, animation cost).

Nice-to-have experience

  • CreateJS (or similar canvas frameworks) and maintaining a JavaScript-based HTML5 game codebase.

  • Experience dealing with third-party Construct plugins and keeping builds stable across Construct versions.

  • Kiosk-specific delivery experience:

    • Fixed-resolution deployments, fullscreen control, guided access style constraints

    • Touch-first UI considerations, large tap targets

  • Experience removing or disabling monetisation components (ads/trackers) cleanly.

  • Basic familiarity with game UX polish (animation timing, feedback states, readability).

What “good” looks like

  • Each game matches the supplied skin and copy precisely.

  • Kiosk builds run reliably, look crisp at the target display resolution, and behave predictably.

  • Risks are surfaced early with clear options: fix, workaround, or scope callout.

  • Clean handover: source projects updated, exports reproducible, and notes documented.
