QA Engineer (Mid-Level) – Backend & API Focus

Role Overview

The client seeks a mid-level QA Engineer to support a backend-heavy project focused on functional testing of APIs and system integrations. This role is ideal for a QA professional with strong backend testing experience who is comfortable working with APIs, WordPress configurations, and CRM-integrated systems.

The project does not include UI testing; the focus is entirely on validating backend functionality, data flows, and system behavior.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform functional testing across backend services and APIs

• Validate API integrations, data handling, and business logic

• Test WordPress functionality and configurations from a backend perspective

• Collaborate with developers to identify, document, and verify defects

• Support testing related to CRM integrations and data workflows

• Ensure system stability and reliability through structured test cases and scenarios

Required Skills & Experience

• Mid-level experience as a QA Engineer

• Strong understanding of backend testing methodologies

• Solid knowledge of how APIs work, including request/response validation

• Proficiency with WordPress functionality and configuration (non-UI focused)

• Experience performing functional testing (not UI or visual testing)

Nice-to-Have Experience

• Familiarity with CRM systems

• Experience working with well-known CRMs (experience with Sage 200 is a strong plus, but not required)
