Senior QA Enginner (Remote - Anywhere)
Overview
The client seeks a Senior Agile Tester to join their Product team and champion quality throughout the development lifecycle. This role involves fostering best practices in manual and automated testing, driving the team’s Continuous Delivery goals, and ensuring that customer-centric solutions meet the highest standards. As a Senior Agile Tester, you will be part of a highly collaborative environment, mentoring teammates, guiding quality strategies, and promoting team-wide accountability for quality.

Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Engineering, and Customer Success teams to understand customer needs and deliver well-tested, high-quality solutions.
- Promote quality and test practices at every stage of development, ensuring quality is built into the product from the earliest stages of design through production.
- Prevent quality issues by leveraging collaborative sessions such as User Story Mapping and Example Mapping to identify risks early and implement mitigation strategies.
- Lead the team’s automated testing strategy to support Continuous Delivery, reducing reliance on manual regression testing while enabling fast and reliable feedback loops.
- Advocate for Lean/Agile practices by encouraging small, incremental, high-quality releases that meet customer needs.
- Mentor teammates by modeling strong manual and automated testing practices and providing guidance on improving quality across the team.
Required Qualifications
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a software testing role, ideally within an Agile SaaS environment.
- Proven expertise in leading quality efforts for both distributed and monolithic systems.
- Strong facilitation skills, with experience in collaborative sessions like Example Mapping to enhance team-wide accountability for quality.
- Proficiency in test automation using tools such as Selenium, Postman, REST Assured, JMeter, Mockito, Wiremock, and languages such as Java and TypeScript.
- Familiarity with Continuous Delivery environments and DevSecOps principles, where testing, security, and operations are integrated into development from the outset.
- Experience designing test strategies that prioritize automated testing while reducing reliance on manual testing.
- Ability to collaborate in cross-functional environments, valuing the input of engineers, designers, product managers, and customer success teams.
Nice-to-Have Skills
- Experience working in compliance-driven environments (e.g., PCI DSS).
- Experience in people management, with interest in developing leadership skills further.
Work Environment
This is a 100% remote position open to candidates located anywhere. While the client is headquartered in Dublin, team members can work from anywhere, with occasional in-person meetings for planning or team gatherings (e.g., once or twice a year for social events).
