Job Overview:
The client, a UK-based SaaS company, is seeking a skilled Craft CMS Developer to refactor their existing platform to ensure scalability and performance improvements. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in Craft CMS development, as well as experience with content management systems and SaaS platforms. This role is focused on refactoring and optimizing the current system to handle a growing user base, ensuring a smooth, scalable, and robust architecture.

Key Responsibilities:

• Refactor the existing platform built on Craft CMS to improve scalability, performance, and efficiency.
• Collaborate with the client’s product team to identify key areas in the current architecture that require optimization.
• Develop and implement solutions to improve system reliability and user experience.
• Ensure that the platform is robust and capable of handling increased traffic as the company scales.
• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including backend engineers, designers, and product managers, to align project goals and outcomes.
• Provide ongoing support and improvements to the platform during and after the refactor process.
• Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices in Craft CMS development.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience with Craft CMS, including the development of custom modules and plugins.
• Strong understanding of PHP, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
• Experience in scaling SaaS platforms or websites that handle high volumes of traffic.
• Familiarity with MySQL databases and experience in optimizing database performance.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to optimize the performance of content-heavy websites.
• Familiarity with cloud-based infrastructure and deployment processes.
• Previous experience in refactoring and improving existing systems for scalability and performance is a plus.
• Ability to work autonomously and communicate effectively in a remote team environment.

Bonus Qualifications:

• Experience with other CMS platforms like WordPress or Drupal.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker) and DevOps processes.
• Experience working in Agile development environments.

Duration:

This is a project-based role expected to last 3-6 months, with the possibility of extension depending on project progress and future needs.
