📌 Overview

The client, an innovative company operating in the AI safety space, seeks a Project Manager / Product Manager with a strong engineering background to drive the coordination and execution of its technical product roadmap. The client spun out as an independent entity in late 2025 and is building real-time, black-box monitoring tools to detect unsafe or rogue behavior in AI systems with extremely low latency and high accuracy. The technology works across AI platforms without requiring access to models, supporting enterprise-grade reliability and compliance.

As the company prepares for its Series A in 2026, the team is scaling rapidly and pursuing enterprise readiness through cloud certifications, compliance (SOC 2, ISO 27001, ISO 42001), and deeper product-market fit. This role is essential in supporting delivery excellence across multiple technical and business initiatives.

🧠 The Role

This is a hybrid role combining project management and product management, ideally suited to someone with deep hands-on technical experience and a track record of coordinating high-performing engineering teams. The selected candidate will partner closely with engineers, researchers, leadership, and external partners to own product delivery end-to-end.

Note: This is not a traditional project management role. The client is specifically looking for someone who brings technical credibility to the table—not administrative overhead.

🎯 Key Responsibilities

Project Management

• Coordinate engineering sprints and track milestone delivery
• Manage parallel work streams (core product, compliance, integrations)
• Identify and unblock execution issues; escalate dependencies as needed
• Run effective stand-ups and sprint planning sessions—lightweight but impactful
• Keep leadership informed of progress, risks, and resourcing needs
• Collaborate with external partners on certifications and integrations (e.g., AWS, Drata)

Product Management

• Own and maintain the product roadmap in collaboration with leadership and customers
• Translate customer feedback and compliance requirements into technical specifications
• Prioritize features based on market needs, competitive context, and delivery capacity
• Define release criteria and uphold product quality standards
• Coordinate with sales and partnerships on evolving market demands
• Create product documentation and release communications

✅ Requirements

Essential

• 5+ years of hands-on software engineering experience
• 3+ years in product, project, or technical program management
• Proven ability to ship products in fast-moving, resource-constrained environments
• Respected by senior engineers due to technical acumen
• Excellent cross-functional communication (tech, business, customers)
• Skilled at bringing structure without bureaucracy

Preferred

• Experience with AI/ML, data infrastructure, or developer tooling
• Exposure to enterprise B2B, cybersecurity, or compliance domains
• Familiarity with cloud marketplace certification (AWS, Azure, GCP)
• Understanding of compliance frameworks (SOC 2, ISO 27001/42001)
• Background in early-stage startups
