Remote Android Developer (Java & Kotlin)

Job Description: 

The client seeks a skilled Android Developer with expertise in Java and Kotlin to contribute to the enhancement of existing Android applications. The developer will work on applications related to self-checkout systems, a handheld terminal app that manages various aspects of self-checkout, and an EPOS till application. The focus of the role will be on adding new functionality to these applications.

This is a remote role (work from anywhere) with an initial 8-week engagement and the potential for ongoing work based on project needs and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Enhance existing Android applications for self-checkout systems, handheld terminal apps, and EPOS till systems.
• Develop and implement new features and functionality into existing Android apps using Java and Kotlin.
• Collaborate with the client's internal development and design teams to ensure seamless integration of updates.
• Debug and resolve issues to improve application performance, reliability, and user experience.
• Ensure code quality by following best practices and participating in code reviews.

Qualifications:

• Proven experience in Android development using Java and Kotlin.
• Familiarity with Android application architecture, UI/UX principles, and development best practices.
• Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with internal and client teams.
• Experience with RabbitMQ is not required, but familiarity with messaging systems is a plus.

Additional Details:

• No requirement for experience with specific versions of Java or Android, but the ability to quickly adapt to different versions and technologies is important.
• The role involves updating and expanding existing applications rather than building new ones.
• Remote work allows for complete location flexibility (work from anywhere).
